The scope of the journal emphasis not limited to urban environmental management and environmental technology for case study in Indonesia and for other region in the world as well.

The editorial contents and elements that comprise the journal include:

Urban Environmental Management: environmental modeling, cleaner production, waste minimization and management, energy management and policies, water resources management, water supply and sanitation, industrial safety and health, water recovery and management, urban environmental pollution-diseases and health status, eco-drainage, flood risk management, risk mitigation, climate change and water resource adaptation.

Environmental Technology: energy efficiency, renewable energy technologies (bio-energy), environmental biotechnology, pollution control technologies (wastewater treatment and technology), water treatment and technology, indigenous technology for climate change mitigation and adaptation, solid waste treatment and technology

Peer Review Process

Indonesian Journal of Urban and Environmental Technology reviewing policies are:

  • Every submitted paper will be reviewed by at least one peer-reviewer.
  • Reviewers are unaware of the identity of the authors, and authors are also unaware of the identity of reviewers (double blind review method).
  • Reviewing process will consider novelty, objectivity, method, scientific impact, conclusion, and references.

 

Open Access Policy

  • This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
  • Users have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link the full texts of these articles.
  • Access rights of entire publication content of this journal are open access for noncommercial purposes [see copyright provisions].

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Article Processing Charges

Due to the rising costs of academic publications, starting 2019, publication fees shall be implemented to all accepted papers. This journal charges the following author fees (Article Publication Fee):

  • Indonesian first authors: IDR 2.000.000 per article
  • International first authors: USD 0 per article

This fee includes:

  • DOI registration for each paper
  • Checking the article similarity by turnitin

If the manuscript is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Publication Fee to cover publications costs.

Each manuscript submitted by authors to Indonesian Journal of Urban and Environmental Technology is free (no charge).

 

Data Availability Policy

INDONESIAN JOURNAL OF URBAN AND ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY requires, as a condition for publication, that data supporting the results in the paper should be archived in an appropriate public archive. INDONESIAN JOURNAL OF URBAN AND ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY recommends the Harvard Dataverse, which is free and open to all researchers worldwide to share, cite, reuse and archive research data. Data are important products of the scientific enterprise, and they should be preserved and usable for decades in the future. Authors may elect to have the data publicly available at time of publication. Exceptions may be granted at the discretion of the editor, especially for sensitive information such as human subject data or the location of endangered species. Publication Ethics

Background

Indonesian Journal of Urban and Environmental Technology has to ensure that all published works within the journal follow ethical principles on academic publishing. It is therefore essential to set an ethical standard for all stakeholders to create a conducive environment and to avoid problems that may arise due to a certain confict of interest. This document presents the policy of Indonesian Journal of Urban and Environmental Technology on the respective publication ethics and malpractice statement as guidance for all stakeholders of the journal.

Publication and authorship

All persons listed as authors should qualify for authorship. Such authorship should be limited to persons who have contributed significantly to the conception, design, execution, data acquisition, data analysis or interpretation of the manuscript. All other persons who have participated in certain important aspects of the research but do not qualify as authors, then they should be acknowledged. Authorship is a responsibility of the corresponding author; he or she should ensure that all appropriate co-authors are included in the manuscript. The corresponding author, on behalf of all co-authors, should submit a form (Form A) stating that all of them have seen and approved the final version of the manuscript and have agreed to submit it for publication. Request to add or remove author(s) or to arrange the author names of the accepted manuscript before it is published, must be sent to Chief Editor.

Responsibilities of authors

Authors are obliged to follow in peer review process set by Indonesian Journal of Urban and Environmental Technology. Authors are responsible to provide original and accurate data (no plagiarism, no fraudulent data) concerning the manuscript submi ed, and to provide the data when they are requested. The submitted manuscript should not be under consideration or accepted for publication elsewhere. Where parts of the data have been published elsewhere, the sources have to be acknowledged or cited accordingly. When reproducing data from other sources, proper citation and permission are required. Any potential conflict of interest has to be declared including any financial, personal, or other relationships with other people or organizations related to their work that could affect their work. All sources of financial supports for the research project and study sponsor(s) (if any) along with their role in the research or study, should be disclosed in the Acknowledgement. Authors are requested to be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed.

Responsibilities of reviewers

Reviewers are requested to assist in improving the quality of the manuscript through an objective review process within a scheduled period of time, and to contribute to the decision-making process on the manuscript. If reviewers and any published or submitted content similar to that under review, the editor has to be informed. Reviewers should have no conflict of interest with respect to the research, the authors and/or the research funders. Any confidentiality of information supplied by the editor or author should be maintained.

Responsibilities of editors

Editors have the complete responsibility and authority to accept or reject an article. They should have no conflict of interest with regard to articles they accept or reject. Editors should be objective and fair when con- ducting their duties without making any discrimination on gender, ethnic, religion, political view or geographifical origin of the authors. Editors should also accept manuscripts on the basis of academic merit and without commercial influence. Anonymity of reviewers should be preserved by editors.

Publishing ethics issues

Authors, reviewers and editors should maintain the integrity of the academic record during the whole process of publication. Business needs should be precluded from compromising intellectual and ethical standards. Authors could refer to International Standards for Editors and Authors (http://publicationethics.org/international-standards-editors-and-authors) by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) for policies that are not stated in this instructions.

Journal History

Indonesian Journal of Urban and Environmental Engineering (ind.j.urban.env.eng/ urbanenvirotech), formerly name is Jurnal Teknologi Lingkungan has been published since 2004 by Environmental Engineering Department, Faculty of Architecture Landscape and Environmental Technology, Universitas Trisakti in associated with Indonesian Society of Sanitary and Environment Engineers (IATPI). The scope of the journal emphasis but not limited to Urban Environmental Management and Environmental Technology. This journal is an ideal academic platform to link researchers, scientists, engineers and practioners with common interest. This journal is consistently published two times a year in April and October, and already registered in EBSCO, Google Scholar, Indonesia One Research, Indonesian Publication Indeks, Academic Resource Index, PKP Index and already used Turnitin to prevent any suspected plagiarism in the manuscripts.
